Our story

How it all began.

Azeem Khan was seventeen when he stuck a label on his older brother Raheem's computer that read Khan Brothers Real Estate. Neither of them was working in property at the time. Raheem was in wealth management and private equity, and Azeem was in ergonomic sales.

Raheem moved into real estate first and was named Rookie of the Year by the Chicago Association of Realtors in 2011, which is where the practice really begins. Azeem followed, and the two of them have spent the years since working the same set of North Side neighborhoods rather than chasing volume across the whole metropolitan area.

What the firm does now grew out of what clients kept asking for. Investors who bought through the brokerage wanted to know who would look after the building afterwards, and owners who had inherited or accumulated rental units wanted someone reliable to run them. Management followed representation because it was the obvious next thing to be useful at.

We are a small licensed team rather than a call center, so the person who answers the phone is the person handling your property.

Raheem Khan

Raheem came to real estate from wealth management and private equity, and works with luxury buyers, sellers and investors. He was named Rookie of the Year by the Chicago Association of Realtors in 2011 and received the Good Neighbor Award every year from 2011 through 2015.

Azeem works with high-end homebuyers across the North Side. He is a repeat Top Producer and a multiple Good Neighbor Award recipient, and he also founded the group's sister company, AK Custom Homes, in 2007.

Iris Gabriel

Iris works with buyers and sellers across the North Side, and spends most of her time walking first-time purchasers through financing, inspection and closing so that nothing in the process comes as a surprise.

Our approach.

A named person, not a queue

You are given a broker who stays with the file. The person who takes your first call is the person who sees the transaction through and, if you go on to have us manage the property, the person you keep dealing with afterwards.

Valuations we can defend

An accurate number is more useful to you than a flattering one. We would rather give you a price you did not want to hear at the outset than watch a listing sit unsold for six months while the market draws its own conclusions.

Continuity after the closing

Because representation and management sit in the same office, an owner is never left to be the go-between. The knowledge from the purchase stays with the people running the building.

A defined patch

We work North Center, Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Streeterville, the Gold Coast, the Southport Corridor, River North and the West Loop, along with the areas around them. Knowing a small number of neighborhoods properly is worth more than claiming all of them.
